iPhone test

I have been correct on my blog title.... lol

I was showing my husband the title of my blog and hes said "it don't make sense". I said "Well, Ive heard that saying all my life, it IS a saying that people say". He said " I don't think so, pigs cant get ticks because their skin is too tough for them to adhere to". So I goggled the saying. And, the saying that I had heard, that I got confused with, was "As useless as tits on a boar hog" LOL. But did find forums of people having trouble with ticks on their pigs and hogs. SO we were both wrong. But I think, If I was a tick Id be PRETTY happy if I was to be able to suck the blood from a boar hog. How bout You ?

Get dressed or watch TV?

Another great craigslist find. A vintage dresser for 25.00. I loved the wavy drawers. We will be ungrading to an LED TV over Christmas ( yes we still have a tube, dont hate) so I wanted a unique entertainment center. We stripped and sanded and stained and painted. I say WE because I paid one of our boys to do the stripping and sanding ( I hate doing that ), but he did a great job. I painted the top basically the same color it was before lol. Then stained the drawers. Left out the two middle drawers to create shelves for DVD player, pics, etc. The pic has my TUBE tv on it FOR NOW but will have a nice 50" LED hanging 

 over it come January.

Pie anyone????

I got this antique pie safe from a young girl moving to California. It was her Granfathers and she wasnt sure how old it was but said he had made it and it had been around for as long as she could remember. She couldnt take it with her but parted with it for 20.00. YAY ME! So I wanted it to be a little lighter and more shabby chic. SOOOO I did my thing. lol See before and after below. I have since put chicken wire in the doors also. Happy junkin!

As a child I always loved dumpster diving at the apt complex we lived at to find any buried treasures. I still have not lost this weird obsession to take other peoples trash and find the treasure still in it. Pretty little bench…..

 

I bought this bench with a storage compartment under the seat at the Gateway thrift store for 5.00.

It has no padded seat, just wood. A little sanding, a little paint can do so much.

I then added some padding and material to the top for added comfort. I believe this was a piano bench. It could still be used as that or inside your back door or just as a vanity seat. Either way its just cute.
